iNET has been in business since 1988 selling and building computers, providing computer support for business and individuals becoming Waakesha's best technology store. In 1998 web development was added with web hosting and eCommerce development along with web design services. How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The origin of iNET Web dates to 1988, when entrepreneurial spirit of iNET founder James Libbey took hold, forcing James who had worked as a CPA for years to get into business for himself. James anticipated what is now referred to as the PC BOOM before the BOOM was commonly recognized. In at the ground level, James set out selling, processing orders, building computers, servicing and supporting customers as a one man operation. James looked for growing Wisconsin communities with income levels able to support a computer/technology store. In 1988 there were no online stores or mass production computer houses. After a brief trial balloon location in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin (James' home town) James opened his Waukesha iNET retail personal computer store in a one thousand square foot store front at Hwy 18 and Kossow Road in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
In 2000, Steven Libbey left a family business he managed for fourteen years to come on board with the iNET team. At that time, the big box national computer companies were starting to dominate the computer industry. iNET was stuck in a static position.
Steven brought a new level of management coupled with a marketing platform developed from the perspective of absolute 100% customer satisfaction and a, "We will beat all competitors at every level," attitude to iNET. Since 2000, iNET has grown from 7 to 30 full time positions.
